 Kenny and Missy Cates, of Trinity Equine Counseling - Alvord, TX, believe that the Bible is a complete and effective tool for counseling people. We want to live our lives being pleasing to our heavenly Father and in that feel Equine Assisted Counseling is to be used at this time to help others find their way back to a Christ-centered peaceful life in God's perfect will.
Their counseling services address issues in a variety of areas including: individual, group, family, grief, marriage, substance abuse, behavioral problems, and anger management.
Why Horses? - Winston Churchill once said, "The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man." At Trinity Equine Counseling, we feel that the whole horse benefits man. By replacing the ordinary office setting with an arena, round pen and interactive horse exercises; our counselors create a setting where hurts can be healed, life crippling problems can be solved and renewed hope is found. What difference can a horse make? The difference between giving up and finding hope to go on.
Kenny and Missy Cates both have a Certificate of License in the Ministry of the Gospel of Christ. Kenny is a 1997 graduate of the Christ for the Nations school in Dallas, Texas. Kenny had ministered for Cowboys For Christ for several years.
 Kenny and Missy have been part of several evangelical outreaches to the rodeo ministry including the Pro-Youth Rodeo Association. Currently Kenny serves as Pastor of Believers International Church in Decatur, TX. Combined, Kenny and Missy have over 30 years experience with horses; including a 16 year horseshoeing business which is still active. Kenny is now working with Wise and Jack County Juvenile Probation Department leading the youth in Community Service, and Mentoring Activities. They also offer a program called the Christ Centered Equine Assisted Training Certification Program or C.E.A.D to help others become Certified in Christ Centered Discipleship Training . They are privileged to be able to home school their two children.
